Summit Matsu Chillers recently provided EMTIVAC with one of their industrial water chillers from the series 8 range, operating at 46 kW to provide a continuous supply of water at 15 degrees for the cooling of service liquid for a liquid ring compressor for a project for one of EMTIVAC’s clients.
Regarding specific uses for the industrial water chillers, EMTIVAC managing director, Peter Hobson said: “It’s a cooling medium. We run the system on what we call full recirculation so that the water for the compressor is being re-circulated and cooled all the time. So we have the heat exchanger in between and the chiller water is running through the cold side of the heat exchanger and the processed water on the other side of the heat exchanger.”
Peter said trial runs went well and commissioning of the unit will take place during the next 6 months, he explained that working knowledge of operating environment and local product support for industrial water chillers were advantages of working with a local supplier.
