Summit Matsu Chillers providing optimal cooling for Clean Rooms Australia at the Australian Technology Park.
Summit Matsu Chillers recently supplied a 36kW air cooled chilled for research into the development of high technology equipment at the world class facilities at Australian Technology Park in Sydney. Working with other industry experts at Clean Rooms Australia a chiller was designed that provided optimal cooling for this significant R&D application.
Clean Rooms Australia is an Australian owned and run company which provides ‘turn-key’ clean room solutions for manufacturers of various high end technological products. A clean room is an environment that is absent of any static electricity and damaging dust particles. The dust is removed from the air by controlling air flow and by using various filtration systems. A clean room allows the production of technology equipment including circuit boards, wafer chips, flat screen television units and pharmaceutical grade drugs as well as providing a highly controlled environment for sensitive and rigorously quality controlled experiments and research and development projects.
Clean Rooms Australia worked with Bandwidth Foundry International, a photonics manufacturing and development company wholly owned and managed by the University of Sydney. Bandwidth Foundry International makes photomasks for semiconductors, MEMS, microfluidics, astrophysics and photonics industries as well as research and other applications using a state-of-the-art Heidelberg DWL200 laser writer.
Industrial chillers from Summit Matsu Chillers are renowned for reliability, quality and durability. In this application these characteristics are critical. For without an effective chiller, the research and development teams working in the clean room would have no means of regulating the air temperature for the manufacturing and testing environments. The chiller in this clean room also functions as a means of cooling the sophisticated equipment used in their research and development cycles at the Australian Technology Park.
Father and Son duo Marshall and Benjamin Paul talk about the laboratory spec chiller used by Clean Rooms Australia at Australian Technology Park, for the university funded clean room project based in the Australian Technology Park in Redfern Sydney.
When asked about how significant a role the the series 8 air-cooled – 36kw Summit Matsu Chillers unit played in the operation of this clean room, Marshall Paul emphasised that: “The role of the chiller at the Technology Park Project was totally, absolutely and critically important to the operation of the clean room”. The company director went to further explain that: “by having a local supplier we were able to have a look at the chiller for the install, and have the manufacturer close by for servicing and support.”
Summit Matsu Chillers yet again demonstrated the breadth of application for their Series 8 air-cooled chiller in providing controlled cooling for the highly sensitive clean room environment for Bandwidth Foundry at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney.
